It's David Gregory!

We're shaking our magic eightball and every time we ask it if these rumors that David Gregory will take over the reigns of Meet the Press, it says "outlook good." Darn. We'd been crossing our fingers for Gwen Ifill, which we feel would have been a much riskier and wiser choice.

NBC hasn't confirmed the news yet, but the Internet is pretty much acting as if it's true.

Donkelphant had a pretty eloquent reaction to the news: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"

Aaron Barnhart over at TV Barn is okay with the Gregory choice saying that he "is almost certain to carry on in Tim Russert's footsteps, and that's probably why he was chosen over more nuanced candidates like Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd."

Gregory will do fine. He's a smart man who knows politics. We'll still watch "Meet the Press" every Sunday morning. We just wish the folks over at NBC would have chosen someone less dull.
