Are you sick of the endless coverage of Michael jackson's death? Many people are tired of turning on the telly seeing nothing but news coverage of the King of Pop's death. Putting aside whether or not he was actually a child molester, Jackson was one of the biggest stars in the world.
So when Howard Kurtz asked CNN's Don Lemon if the news stations were overdoing it with their coverage, he had this to say:
"No, I don't feel it's overdoing it. And I don't -- and when I hear people say that, I have to be very honest with you, Howie, I think it's elitist. I don't remember -- I'm sure there was some criticism when there was the coverage of Princess Diana's death, but I don't think that there was this sort of criticism that we're having with Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson is an accidental civil rights leader, an accidental pioneer. He broke ground and barriers in so many different realms in artistry, in pictures, in movies, in music, you name it. So, no, I don't think it's overkill."
It's not everyday such an iconic star dies so we're not going to wine about the coverage. After all, this is a huge news story. That said, accusing those who criticise the wall-to-wall coverage of being elitist is quite a bit of a stretch.

Where have you been? Did your standing up for the MJ coverage get you sent to time out? I feel the criticism was wrong, mostly from people who did not know or care to know all the wonderful times Michael Jackson did for others.
